Clean as You Go

When I went to school to learn how to cook, I learned three phrases the first day that will never forget. I can still hear Mr. Bushy, Mr. Miller and Mr. Lateurs teaching us the mantras: "Never catch a falling knife," and "The fat is where the flavor is" and finally…"CLEAN AS YOU GO"!

Yom Kippur - Jewish Day of Atonement

Yom Kippur, the Jewish High Holy Day starts at sunset. Learn of its relevance for all disciples of Jesus.

For many, Yom Kippur is nothing more than a Jewish Holiday occurring in early fall that allows them to take a day off from work or school. However, for Jewish people it is without a doubt the most sacred day of the year. For Christians, although many don’t realize it, the day contains enormous spiritual significance. Hopefully this study will shed some light on the Biblical significance of Yom Kippur, the way rabbinic Judaism has restructured its observance, and more significantly, the deeper messianic significance of this special day. Message of the Cross Reflected in News Article about Heroism

In a tragic boating accident in August, a young mother died while rescuing her two-year-old son from drowning.

It is an amazing story of heroism. According to a news report, 33-year-old Chelsey Russell jumped into Lake Powell after her son fell into the water while on a moving houseboat. He was not wearing a life jacket and neither was his mom. Russell grabbed her son and was able to hold his head above the water long enough for him to be rescued before she drowned and slipped further under the water.

Kwitcherbelyakin! "Quit the Bellyaching and Encourage Someone!"

Deuteronomy 3:26-28: But because of you the Lord was angry with me and would not listen to me. "That is enough," the Lord said. "Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan. But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see."
