This retreat was about learning how to make the Lord our rock, how to thirst for him, and how to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. It was amazing to hear Sam and Geri, who have been disciples for 47 years now, preach about how God has fulfilled every single promise he made to them when they were baptized as 19-year-old college students. They taught us how to walk closely with God and how to stay disciples for the next 50 years and beyond!
By Sunday, there were college students coming up to us in tears saying they were ready to be baptized! And in fact, four students counted the cost and decided to get baptized that very weekend (in the 33 degree water)! Pictured below is Blake Moore, who leads the campus in the South Coastal region of the Boston Church of Christ, baptizing his friend from Bridgewater State.
The best part about our spring retreat is that students get the opportunity to go out for extended times with God instead of classes. Every year, many of them tell us that this is the best quiet time they have ever had. These times are so formative in their spiritual development.
Overall, God is doing great things in New England. We have a collective goal to see 100 conversions by the ICMC this July, and God has already used us to see 65 baptisms across New England since last summer. And there are many more on the way! We pray and fast together for this dream on the first of every month. Please remember us in your prayers!
We also had a very successful program called "campus swap" last month. Fifty students from across New England used their spring breaks to share their faith all week in a different city in New England. Through their efforts, 10,000 students were reached in the month of March alone. That's what we call March Madness! We hope this good news encourages and inspires you!
