Hartford Church Seeks Fulltime Lead Evangelist and Women's Ministry Leader Featured

Monday, 09 September 2013 18:39
The Greater Hartford Church of Christ is seeking a lead evangelist and women’s ministry leader to begin in the summer of 2014. Jimmy & Anita Allen will be moving from Hartford at that time to serve as the staff couple for a new church planting in Providence, Rhode Island.

GHCC-Logo-NewTimesHartford is the capital city of Connecticut and has a diverse cultural population of approximately one million people in the metropolitan area. Connecticut is one of six New England states – along with Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island.

The Greater Hartford church presently numbers over 300 disciples in two regions. The congregation began 19 years ago, owns a building and has three staff couples serving at this time. In addition to our staff, the church is blessed with four elders and wives and 11 deacons and wives.

One of the greatest strengths of our location in New England is the strong ties with numerous sister churches in our area. Connecticut itself has four international churches of Christ with over 500 members – Hartford, Storrs, Groton & Southern Connecticut (Bridgeport, Stamford & New Haven areas). There are plans to plant another congregation in Waterbury, CT, in 2016.

Hartford is nestled directly between New York City and Boston – about a two hour drive each way. This also allows for many great, spiritual opportunities. Our church annually hosts the New England & New York elders and wives’ conference. This year, we will be adding to that retreat a two-day conference for all of the staff from New England and New York as well.

We are seeking a mature couple, strong with God and in communicating Him to others. We desire a couple with a track record of excellence in team leadership and effective building.
