Flagstaff Church Seeks Female Ministry Intern, Mission-Hungry Disciples Featured

Phoenix2The Phoenix Church of Christ is excited to see God moving to strengthen and build up our sister ICOC church in Flagstaff, Arizona. In 2013 God moved in the hearts of Ken and Debbie Burford to dream for (and move to!) Flagstaff to lead the work there.

The handful of disciples in Flagstaff responded with great joy! Flagstaff is home to NAU (Northern Arizona University), with a 20,000 student population. It is a true "campus town" in every way. Excitingly, God has already provided a small church building close to the campus for both Sundays and Bible Talk. Visitors are coming to service and the work is underway!

At the Southwest Conference in November God again moved, this time in Nate Colligan's heart, to apply for and accept the college ministry internship for the Flag work. He has moved from Los Angeles to Flagstaff and is active sharing his faith on campus. God is also moving in the hearts of a number of Arizona campus student and out of state disciples to transfer to NAU later in the year and to join the mission. If you are a high school junior of senior, strong in faith and conviction, please consider NAU as a possible destination for both your education and a mission opportunity.

Phoenix1We are now actively searching for a female college ministry intern to join the work in Flagstaff. The position is part-time. The ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate or a current student who is willing to transfer to NAU, taking courses at the community college in the meantime. Please contact Keri Hiddleson (602-696-9361) if you are interested in applying for this women's ministry intership.

We are also putting the word out regarding the "mission-hungry" amongst our fellowship. Just as Ken and Debbie have pulled up their roots to go to a mission situation, so we are looking for those who are eager to get back out to the mission field. Flagstaff has a few big employers (NAU, Flagstaff Medical Center, W.L. Gore, Flagstaff Unified School District, Walmart, Dell, Nestle-Purina) to apply to work-wise, but we also have come to know that a number of disciples are permanent tele-commuters, and can do their jobs anywhere in the US that has access to phone, email, and fax. We want to encourage you, that if God has been calling you to pull up your roots and "go" somewhere for Him, to pray about coming to join the work in Flag!

Please contact Ken Burford (480-643-9785) for more information.

Join us in prayer for Flag!
