Sunday, 24 September 2017 16:31

The leadership team of the San Diego Church of Christ is proud to announce that we completed our search for our Regional Leadership positions. Joining our team are Gary and Pauline Taylor, who will lead the South Point Region of 310 members and Joe and Annie Silipo will lead the 350 member Mission Region.

We are grateful to those who expressed a desire to consider San Diego as a new ministry home. We are also very grateful to our core groups in each region who took the time to meet with each couple, to convey our specific needs, and then to pray, collaborate, and ultimately agree in unity as to the best choice for each region. We love the process we have set up and believe each region leader will experience great support as a result.

sdcc taylorsGary and Pauline became disciples in San Diego as campus students at San Diego State University in 1992. They were trained in the ministry in San Diego from 1994 to 2005, and went on to serve in ministries in Tucson and Phoenix. They have worked with the Campus Ministry, Youth and Family Ministry and as Regional Leaders. Gary and Pauline were married in 1993 and have two grown children and two grandchildren.

Coming back to San Diego is a homecoming of sorts and the San Diego Church is looking forward to renewing the relationship and working together with the Taylors to glorify God and advance the gospel.

sdcc siliposJoe Silipo became a disciple in Cincinnati in 1978 and Annie became a disciple at the University of Florida in 1981. They were trained in the ministry in Boston and got married in 1986. They went on to lead ministries in Phoenix, Los Angeles and Boston and helped plant the church in Milan, Italy in 1991. They also worked for the European Missions Society for five years and most recently worked with the Hartford Connecticut Church.

Joe and Annie bring their son Sammy with them to San Diego, but also have two grown children. The Silipos have truly been kingdom disciples as they have more than once "gone anywhere and done anything" to advance the gospel. They bring great experience and wisdom with them, and leadership is looking forward to serving side-by-side with Joe and Annie to further God's work in this great city.

The leadership of the San Diego Church wants to thank Disciples Today for being an avenue for churches to seek assistance in growing their staff. Also, the Phoenix and Connecticut churches for our kingdom partnership and most of all, the men and women who desire to devote their lives to serving in the full-time ministry.
