Disciples Needed in Bermuda Christian Church

The beautiful island of Bermuda occupies an area of 20.6 sq mi. and is located off the east coast of North Carolina. It has a diverse population of approximately 65,000 people. One of these is Alex Butterfield. He became a Christian at the Greater Atlanta Church of Christ in December 2006 while attending Georgia State University. He graduated in the summer of 2009 and had to move back home as he is not a citizen of the United States.

HOPE in Central America: Help Make a Difference!

I'm Bill Ellis and I serve as an evangelist for the Spanish-speaking ministry of the Chicago Church of Christ.

Guatemala Summer Medical Brigade

This past summer, I had the privilege of serving for five days alongside 50 other volunteers from all over the US and Mexico. The primary mission of the Community Service Brigades is to provide outpatient medical and dental care for the ICOC church family living in extreme poverty outside of the United States, but my experience proved that they bring so much more. As I spoke to different participants in the medical clinic it was encouraging to hear how so many peoples lives had been changed through the volunteer service of the disciples who had volunteered with HOPE worldwide. One young woman mentioned that she had been baptized just after the first brigade and had never seen a church that cared for its members well being so completely. She stated that since meeting the church she has been cared for spiritually, medically and in her education. It was humbling to see the joy in the Guatemalans' hearts as the brigades bring relief from the constant stress of living in one of the most dangerous cities in the world.

Reflections on My One Year Challenge

How did you first learn about the opportunity to take the One Year Challenge? I heard it talked about a lot in relation to the campus ministry.  But being in the singles, initially I felt like it wasn't an option for me.  I looked into it more over time and was excited to see Disciple Adventures developed and all of the opportunities on there.  I didn't see anything that particularly appealed to me because I really wanted to go to a third world, spanish speaking country - so that's when I considered creating my own OYC.

Announcing the 2015 Planting of the Sarasota Church of Christ

God is moving in the Gulf Coast of Florida! Sarasota, Florida is a beautiful Gulf Coast and an amazing hub of commerce culture, boating and fun!

The county includes Siesta, Lido, and Longboat Key with access to some of the most beautiful sandy white beaches in America. This is a fisherman's paradise, but there are bigger fish to catch than the local tarpon. Souls abound that need to be saved.

McHargues Moving to Madrid: Seeking Others to Join

For many years now Maria and I have been praying and seeking advice about a dream God put on our hearts to go and serve as missionaries in Europe. Many of our churches in Europe are very small in size and eager for disciples to come and help them grow again. God has already answered the call for some of these churches including Paris, Milan, and Berlin.
