OYC: Three New Brothers Featured

God really did promise that the harvest is plentiful! Last month, one of our One Year Challenge sites saw three baptisms in the space of two weekends. These new brothers were all met by brothers and sisters on a One Year Challenge. Jerry and Howard (right, top and bottom) were baptized on the same Sunday within minutes of each other. Connor (left) was baptized the next weekend. All of them are OYC Three Brothersstudents at the same university.

If we are in Christ, we are also created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). The week after he was baptized, Jerry volunteered to serve with a group of disciples at an elderly home in a city near his OYC site. As a new disciple, he cared for the elderly with love and a spiritual vision — all possible because God is gracious and he rewarded the faith of the brothers and sisters on the One Year Challenge. To God be the glory, amen!

If you've been watching the OYC Guys videos, you've already heard snippets of his story. Now, hear it from the man himself! This week, the OYC Guys interview Joe to hear how a group of sisters on a One Year Challenge--and a wedding--helped him to become a disciple of Jesus.

The Church Is Where It's At Where are Christians made? At revivals? At conferences? At worship nights? The question is important, because its answer will help us determine where most to invest in to advance the cause of the Great Commission. Read how Christians are made, first and foremost, in churches.

His Power in Our Smallness God can use any church, big or small. At Ocean State Church of Christ, many came and went; the church grew bigger and then smaller and then bigger. Many came on a One Year Challenge. Through it all, Jimmy Allen reminds us that God's power works despite our weakness so that He can be glorified.

Great Missionary Lives: James Chalmers He was a great missionary to New Guinea. He challenged the lifestyle of cannibalism there and was later named the Greatheart of New Guinea. While we wouldn't agree with all that he taught, he is an example of diligence and bravery.
