Progress and Joy in the Faith: Laings to Begin New Ministry Effort

Greetings dear friends and fellow disciples,

We are writing to inform you of the beginning of what we hope and pray will be an exciting and fruitful new phase of our life – to the glory of our gracious God.

For years, we have sought to encourage disciples, build local congregations, and to strengthen God’s church all over the world. Through teaching, preaching, presenting workshops, writing books, consulting with church leaders and training up staff, elders, and local leaders…by means of all of this – and more – we have sought to help advance the gospel and strengthen God’s people.

ICOC Abuja Plunge Souls into Streams

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like men who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them." The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy. - Psalm 126:1-3 (NIV)

ICOC Abuja celebrates nothing greater than the joy of having a growing family from the salvation of souls in Abuja, Nigeria where over three million people live and work. Being the capital city with a large Muslim population along with challenges of insecurity, we are constantly reminded that on a daily basis, our light must shine and reflect Jesus as we seek to live out the mission to save as many as possible.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we started the Five Day Challenge (FDC) in 2015. The five day challenge is a one of many ways of studying the Bible with people. We invited friends, neighbors and colleagues to commit one hour daily for five days to hear the gospel. At the end of 2015, God added 15 souls to our numbers.

Butuan City Philippines Inaugural Service

On October 30, the Butuan City inaugural service was held at the Luciana Convention Center with over 250 in attendance.

The church planting was spearheaded by the three missionaries –Junny Marcial, Malou Bajaro and Villa Sitoy. The kickoff service was well attended by families, friends, acquaintances and at least 90 disciples from across the Philippine family of churches (Manila Coastal region, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, Camanava, Cebu, Davao, General Santos and Zamboanga). The planting was the fifth in the Mindanao region.

Prior to the inaugural service, a Butuan City Medical and Dental Mission was held on at Barangay 8, Lapu-lapu, Butuan City. Manned by three dentists and one medical doctor, an estimated 130 dental and medical patients were given medical attention. Over 100 adults and kids were also fed during the program.

In Jonah 4:11, God showed his concern for 120,000 people who cannot tell their right hand from their left. Now, for a city with a population of more than 330,000, God has surely extended his arms and ears to wrap his love and hear the prayers of the Butuanons.
