“When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed.” -- Psalm 126:1
We are so grateful to God for refreshing the hearts of the saints in the Montego Bay Christian Church, Jamaica. Kirk and I feel so blessed to be serving in the full-time ministry once again, but it is even more special to be serving here in Jamaica. We serve with an amazing team, lead by Gregory and Simone Baugh.
We both served as missionaries for 15 years in Guyana, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, after which we worked in secular jobs for six years in Trinidad. In our hearts, we have always desired to serve full-time in the ministry once again, but there were times when it seemed like that was not God's plan for our lives.
Praise be to God, for his kindness towards us, our dream is now a reality, as in October 2016, we were hired to lead the church here in Montego Bay. They are an amazing, diverse group of disciples, who welcomed us with open hearts, ready to dream for God.
Since moving to Montego Bay, we have been encouraged in an amazing way. Like a kiss from God, on January 17, 2017 at 12:35 a.m, we saw our 14-year-old daughter Jasmine Abigail Spencer baptized into Christ! Then just ten days later, two more women, Nadine Salmon and Dana King, were baptized into Christ, and added to our number. This Sunday, February 19, we saw Mellonie Boothe baptized into Christ.
One of the special things about these baptisms is that all these women are relatives of disciples. God is truly uniting families in his church. All praise be to our Lord!
We are extremely grateful for the many disciples from different parts of the world, who continue to pray for us, and support the work here in Jamaica. May your love, efforts and sacrifices be multiplied, as God accomplishes his will for our lives, and the brothers and sisters whom we serve.
Truly the mission fields in the Caribbean are ripe for harvest, and we look forward to seeing many more souls won for Christ. Pray with us, that we continue to dream God’s dream for Montego Bay, Jamaica, and faithfully do our part to “Reach Every Beach” for him.
