Reaching for the Sky: Baltimore Church Charters Plane to Reach Featured

About a year and a half ago, Scott Davis, the evangelist for the Greater Baltimore Church of Christ, came to me and asked if I would look into chartering a plane for Reach2016. Initially, I was a little hesitant but I thought some research would not hurt.

Up until the end of 2011 I was a flight attendant for JetBlue Airways. I had no idea that the relationships and experience I gained from this chapter in my life would allow me to help disciples bring glory to God through travel. When I began my research I realized that chartering a plane was really expensive and probably not the most cost-effective for the church. I searched with a few airlines that fly out of the Baltimore and Washington, DC area.

Once I had all the details regarding the flight I was able to present this to the church and give the disciples another option for travel to St. Louis in 2016. We were able to confirm a five percent discount on all seats, and have a deposit and final payment structure allowing disciples to be able to plan and prepare. Additionally, we are able to change the names of the passengers without any additional costs up until 10 days prior to the departure date. I was able to build a relationship with Southwest for the Greater Baltimore Church that will allow us to book group travel in the future for other great events.

When traveling, you never know who you are going to meet. Charting the plane, along with other travel arrangements, has allowed to see 43 percent of our church registered for Reach2016 in St. Louis!  God is moving in so many ways and prayerfully we will be able to see lives changed and souls saved because of this amazing opportunity God has created. All it took was reaching for the sky.
