So do not fear,  for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

On April 10, 2017 the San Bernardino, California community was shaken by the news of a murder-suicide at North Park Elementary School that took the life of special needs teacher Karen Smith, 53, and her student Jonathon Martinez, who was eight years old. The Inland Empire Church of Christ worked with the San Bernardino Unified School District to host a prayer vigil on Tuesday, April 11th at the elementary school where the shooting took place.

Over 1500 people came together from the community and the church to pray, worship, and heal from this tragic event. Two evangelists from our congregation, Steve Lounsbury and Sergio Arguello, led the night of prayer and meditation in a powerful way and led our hearts back to the healing power of God's hands. The members of the Inland Empire Church of Christ wore their HOPE worldwide shirts, and made their way through the crowd, praying and consoling all those in need. It was an inspiring time to see the light of God's church truly shine in the darkest of times. God is certainly drawing many to his comfort.

Here is an ABC News video of the night and article.
