Hurricane Harvey: 'A Storm That the United States Has Not Seen Yet'

"This disaster is going to be a landmark event." That's how the head of FEMA described the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. "This is a storm that the United States has not seen yet," he added.

I’ve lived in Houston for a total of nine years, and have witnessed many incredible storms, hurricanes, and even tornadoes, but nothing close to Hurricane Harvey. The destruction will be as nothing seen before in the U.S.

Greater Houston ICOC Appoints 2 Evangelists and Women's Ministry Leaders

The Greater Houston Church of Christ is excited to announce the appointment of two new evangelists and women's ministry leaders, Barret and Rachel O'Connell, and Jason and Carmen Lugo.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction...But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry” -- 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 5.

Prayers and Messages for Damian Jean-Baptiste

Damian Jean-Baptiste has been an inspiration to so many of us as he has served as a powerful evangelist and missionary in the Caribbean. His deep love for his wife and children is obvious to all of us who know him.

Recently, Damian has been battling some serious medical challenges and we thought that it would encourage him to hear from all of us who love him. Please leave a message at (720) 432-6436. If you can, take this opportunity to love up on Damian, let him know how he has changed your life or recount some fun or funny story of time together. I know that it will encourage him and mean the world to him and his family. We will be able to take these calls through November 14th.

Thank you. Lin Beaty Ottenweller

It has been a very exciting year for the Mission Point Christian Church in San Antonio this year! We have grown in our love for God, as well as our understanding of his grace.
