The singles ministry continues to grow in faith, spirituality and in number. The focus of this weekend was to give more training to current leaders and to those that aspire to lead.
Some of the highlights included a starlight prayer devotional to kick off the weekend at the University of Texas campus. On Saturday, Gordon Ferguson provided some in depth teaching on Biblical hermeneutics (understanding the Bible in context) and discipling relationships.
Ward and Ellen Herbert from The Greater Houston Church spoke about evangelism and the importance of sharing our faith by the way we live our lives. Nate Bigbee from Mission Point Christian Church in San Antonio preached from the book of Nehemiah about having success as a small group leader. Attendees also had the chance to discuss what they were learning in small groups. Saturday night was an incredible memory at the Oasis Restaurant overlooking beautiful Lake Travis in Austin. The view was amazing! Singles enjoyed a buffet dinner and dancing to a great band, as the sun set over the lake.
Sunday the group was able to encourage Austin Christian at their South Region service. They packed the theater, doubling their regular attendance.
It was a phenomenal weekend! Singles were inspired, convicted and motivated to go back to their congregations and do great things for God!
