Singles retreat The singles' ministry of the New Orleans Church held its very first "Singles Retreat" and Masquerade Mardi Gras Ball. The big event took place March 17-19, 2017!

Disciples came from as far away as Hawaii as well from 18 different states! Friday evening kicked off the event with a "meet and greet" affair, highlighting New Orleans-style cuisine and a live band. The featured music was the Jordan Baker Quintet as well as vocals by New Orleans Church's own June Christoff and Tara Watson. It was an evening filled with fun and entertainment.

Saturday morning began with a buffet-style breakfast before keynote speakers, Adam and Bethany Smith, singles' ministry Leaders from the Dallas/Fort-Worth Church in Dallas, Texas, addressed the group on the topic "Masquerades of Life: Single Dating in the Kingdom." The Smiths delivered an impactful lesson about having great dating relationships in God's kingdom.

Following the Smiths, Joe and JoAnn Perdue of the New Orleans Church spoke briefly, offering a mature couples' advice on "Unmasking Discontentment" with regards to dating and some great tips on long distance relationships. For most of the singles, this was their very first time being in New Orleans and experiencing the unique culture of the city, its food and the Mardi Gras festivities and traditions. They all expressed their love for all of the exciting events of the day.

On Saturday night, we celebrated with a New Orleans-style traditional Masquerade Ball, and boy, was it a ball! We enjoyed lots of food and dancing all evening, ending the evening with New Orleans' unrivaled "Second Line."
Singles retreat On Sunday morning, Adam Smith gave a closing message to the entire church congregation about "Awareness." For certain all the singles who attended this event were made totally aware of the greatness of fellowship and togetherness in the kingdom of God during this incredible singles' retreat weekend in New Orleans.

The New Orleans Church thanks all of the singles and congregational members who saw fit to be a part of our history and the city of New Orleans tradition. Hoping to see all who attended and many new faces in the near future. To God be the glory!
