Kindergarten. That’s where Cheryl’s son was first exposed to pornography.

How could this happen? Cheryl [not her real name] had taken every precaution to prevent this. As a certified sex addiction therapist, she had a fierce determination to protect her son from pornography. Her home computer was protected by the best filtering systems, and she was cautious about where her son played. She had even invested thousands of dollars to send her son to a well-respected Christian private school.

This is probably the most challenging phase for the majority of parents. Of course, every teenager is different, but this is the transition between childhood and adulthood. Our temptation is to want them to remain children, and they are dying to be adults, hence the tension.

John and Karen Louis, researchers and authors of Good Enough Parenting and ministers in the Central Christian Church, will be collaborating with Lubbock Christian University this fall.

Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told” -- Habakkuk 1:5.

Father-Son Retreat in Mumbai, India

by Monday, 19 August 2013 16:58
Psalms 2:7 I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, "You are my Son; today I have begotten you." We live in one of the worlds fastest city, struggling to even get in touch with our hearts, forget getting in touch with others. God is good and he put it our hearts to see certain specifics needs especially the disconnections in vital relationship even between father and sons.

Praise be to God that fathers and son from Mumbai Church packed themselves for a weekend a special bonding time at Khandala titled "You Are My Son". The self sponsored event was attended by 35 Father Son duo. It was first of its kind in our recent history of Mumbai church. We were refreshed by God's word, studying out the scriptures with the sons. We were wet, dirty, stinking with mud and puddle. We ended the retreat with a heartfelt sharing about the jump start we got to keep us connected as Fathers and Sons. Many want to come back again to the hills and create great memories again. Truly it was a victory that only God can give.
