Our last study was on "Bruised Reeds." This one is similar and is entitled "Gentleness is Strength."
"Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” -- Luke 7:48-49
Passage: Luke 7: 36-50 / The woman with jar of perfume
Memory scripture: Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Key thought: Gentleness in relationships is godly and Christlike
Points to discuss:
a) Was Jesus gentle toward the woman with perfume?
b) Was Jesus gentle toward Simon?
c) What do you get out of Jesus' parable about debts?
d) What are some times when people treated you gently?
e) What are some times when you could have treated someone else gently, but did not?
f) Helping each other is often like carving granite. Why is gentleness important?
g) What are ways you can let your gentleness be evident to all?
Application (ask for different people than last study group):
a) Who is someone not taking the class you will share with about this lesson?
b) Who is someone taking the class you will fellowship with at least once this week and talk about the discussion?
