Just over a year ago, my wife, Kristen and I moved to Baton Rouge, La from Greenville SC, to restart a Campus ministry at LSU, Southern and BRCC. While we both have had experience in the campus ministry, and as campus ministers, neither of us were quite prepared for what God had in store for us.
More than 50 campus students from Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Recife, Parana, Goias and the Federal District came together in the Brazilian mid-west to take part in the 1st Campus Conference from the International Churches of Christ to take place in Brazil since 2003.
60 attended the first ever Middle East International Campus Ministry Conference (ICMC) held in Beirut, Lebanon. The surge in our campus ministries is seen in over 20 ICMCs being held around the world, many for the first time in their region.

The 2010 North American ICMC has come and gone. Most of us are still trying to wrap our heads around 2100 campus students singing praises to God under one roof let alone putting into practice any one of the inspiring lessons.
On Sunday, August 1, the Chicago Church of Christ joined the campus disciples at the international Campus MInistry Conference (ICMC) for a combined church service of over 4500. In a fantastic display of generosity and love, $22,000 was donated to Chance for Africa.
We are looking for students or graduates who want to take a year off to come and help serve in the campus ministries in the churches in South Africa in 2011 & 2012.

Local and national media reported on the 2100 students from our International Campus Ministry Conference who served the residents of one of Chicago's most needy and most violent neighborhoods. HOPE worldwide and the Chicago Church of Christ did an amazing job organizing this massive event.
The 2010 International Campus Ministry Conference for the International Churches of Christ opened with 2100 students and ministers from the US, Canada and others from around the world at the massive McCormick Convention Center in Chicago. Over 4500 met on Sunday as the Chicago Church of Christ joined the ICMC for worship and over $22,000 was given to Chance for Africa. HOPE worldwide organized the largest student volunteer event ever in the history of the city of Chicago in the Lots of Love project in Englewood!
