HOPE worldwide is happy to announce the appointment of Wade Cook, Denver Church of Christ evangelist, as the new Vice President of U.S. Programs. Joining him is his wife, Debbie, who is assuming the role of Executive Assistant for U.S. Programs. Wade comes to HOPE worldwide with an extensive ministry background and a heart full of compassion, which has prepared him to be an excellent advocate for the poor. In his new role, Wade will oversee HOPE worldwide’s U.S. programs including over 100 Chapters, the National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC) and U.S.-based disaster response services.
Natives of Denver, Colorado, Wade and Debbie grew up in familes that valued serving and helping others. It was no surprise that in addition to almost 24 years in the full-time ministry, both of them were drawn to helping professions; Wade as a licensed therapist and counselor, and Debbie as a registered nurse. Wade holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Colorado and a Master's in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary. His multiple certifications range from marriage and parenting, to crisis intervention and domestic violence. He is also is presently working on a pre-marriage counseling app for Manna in the Morning.
The Cooks have a strong administrative background, evidenced in the three international conferences in Denver they have successfully hosted over the past five years. Wade’s rich background in crisis intervention sets him up perfectly for his new responsibility managing HOPE worldwide’s disaster response in the U.S. He is also certified to work with gang members and has conducted court-ordered therapy in cases of gang and domestic violence.
Debbie has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing, specializing in Internal Medicine. She also holds a Master's degree in Bible and Theology from Lincoln Christian University. The Cooks are experienced in many areas of the ministry, having served in children's ministries to mature married ministers and every stage in between, and were appointed evangelist and women’s ministry leader in 2000. They have had the privilege of spending their entire time in the ministry serving the Denver Church of Christ and the Rocky Mountain Churches, where they were most recently CITY Region and Singles leaders as well as Chairs of the International Singles Service Team.
Married since 1992, Wade and Debbie have shared more than a few adventures together. Their greatest adventure by far has been parenting three amazing daughters McKenzie (19), Chandler (16) and Alexis (15) who are all growing in their own faith as baptized disciples. In addition to their extensive experience, the Cooks bring full hearts with them to their new roles – which they began on July 1, 2016. We are very excited to have them join the HOPE worldwide family.
