Primary purpose of job:

The Development Assistant will help bring vital resources to those in need by providing administrative and clerical support to the Development department of HOPE worldwide. Reporting to the Development Officer, the ideal candidate will be a hard worker with strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills, preferably with experience in nonprofit management, database management or fundraising.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee manual and online gift entry processes
  • Serve as Raiser’s Edge database administrator – update and maintain constituent and gift information, consult on policies and procedures, manage data clean up audits
  • Run monthly gift audits and oversee reconciliation with the Accounting department
  • Manage matching gift requests
  • Produce weekly/monthly donation reports for various HOPEww programs, Chapters and staff
  • Process e-mails, voicemails and faxes from general HOPEww mailboxes
  • Ensure timely, compelling thank you letters and accurate receipts are provided to donors
  • Oversee internal mailings
  • Assist with other special projects as needed


  • Individual must be recognized by HOPEww as being a spiritually fit Christian holding to fundamental Christian principles
  • High school diploma and at least three years of work experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Continual attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong written communication skills and a high level of professionalism
  • Knowledge of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets and/or database software (MS Word, MS Excel, Raiser’sEdge)
